Hot wheel: camera rig example
While this page is not quite a tutorial,
it shows how a good camera rig can help speed up animation changes.
I will often build camera rigs when animating. This kind of rig is useful for following animated objects while retaining maximum control and flexibility of the camera.
I used squares for the wheel rig. The outer square( wh_m_att) is animated along a path. The wheel is parented to this heirarchy and its rotation is controlled by an expression based on pi and the distance traveled.
Normal animation where camera follows the object. The camera sways from side to side and is along for the ride. Here is a more radical animation. This took 10-15 minutes to change from the first animation. This kind of rig allows for massive changes quickly.
